Emergency Food Relief 2025
We fed 2,000 families through the 2025 drought crisis
About This Campaign
In mid-2025, a prolonged drought devastated smallholder farmers across three regions in central Tanzania. Thousands of families exhausted their food stocks months early. Passion Society launched an emergency response — and supporters like you made it possible.
Over six weeks, we distributed food parcels to 2,000 families (approximately 12,000 individuals), each containing a month's supply of maize, beans, cooking oil, and sugar. We partnered with local leaders and women's groups to ensure distribution was fair, reached the most vulnerable, and avoided duplication with other relief efforts.
This campaign is now complete. Thanks to extraordinary generosity — including a $1,000 gift from an anonymous donor that inspired a wave of contributions — we raised $9,320 against a $8,000 goal. Every cent was used for food. Administrative costs were covered separately.
