Grace Msangi

Executive Director

8 years with Passion Society

Grace co-founded Passion Society Organization in 2018 after 12 years in international development, including stints with UNICEF Tanzania and the UN World Food Programme. She leads organizational strategy, donor relations, and government partnerships. Under her leadership, the organization has grown from a 5-person volunteer team to a 40-member staff serving over 5,000 beneficiaries annually. Grace holds an MSc in Development Studies from the University of Edinburgh.

Dr. Peter Mwanga

Head of Health Programs

6 years with Passion Society

Dr. Peter is a public health physician with 18 years of clinical and community health experience. Before joining Passion Society in 2020, he served as a district medical officer in Tabora Region, where he witnessed first-hand the gaps in rural healthcare access that mobile clinics address. He oversees all five mobile clinic units, the community health volunteer network, and our maternal health initiatives. He holds an MBChB from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences and an MPH from Johns Hopkins.

Lilian Temba

Director of Education

7 years with Passion Society

Lilian spent 10 years as a primary school teacher in Mwananyamala before moving into education advocacy. She joined Passion Society in 2019 and built our Education for All program from the ground up — growing it from 50 to over 500 annual scholarship recipients. She is a passionate voice for girls' education and leads our policy engagement work with the Tanzania Ministry of Education. She holds a BEd from the University of Dar es Salaam and a PGDip in Educational Leadership from Aga Khan University.

Samuel Makundi

Community Outreach Lead

8 years with Passion Society

Samuel grew up in Magomeni and has spent his entire career working in and for Dar es Salaam's informal settlements. He joined Passion Society in 2018 as a volunteer and was brought on as a full-time staff member in 2019. Samuel manages our volunteer network of over 200 people, leads community mobilisation for all programs, and serves as the primary liaison with community leaders, ward offices, and local government. He is fluent in Swahili, English, and Sukuma.

Rachel Ngowi

Finance & Operations Director

5 years with Passion Society

Rachel brings 14 years of finance and audit experience from the private sector, including seven years at PricewaterhouseCoopers Tanzania. She joined Passion Society in 2021 to professionalise our financial management systems and ensure full compliance with donor reporting standards. She oversees all financial planning, controls, and annual audits, and has led the organization to achieve 100% clean audit records since her appointment. She holds a BCom (Accounting) and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-T).

Ibrahim Juma

Head of Partnerships & Fundraising

4 years with Passion Society

Ibrahim joined Passion Society in 2022 after six years in corporate social responsibility at a leading Tanzanian telecommunications company. He leads our institutional fundraising, manages relationships with international donors and embassies, and develops corporate partnership programs. Since joining, he has grown our annual fundraising revenue by 140%. He holds a BA in Communications from St. Augustine University of Tanzania and an MBA from the University of Nairobi.
