Mwananyamala Women's Business Fund
Fuel 30 women-led businesses with working capital
About This Campaign
Thirty women entrepreneurs in Mwananyamala have business ideas, skills, and drive — but lack the small amounts of working capital needed to grow. A fruit vendor needs $150 for a cart. A seamstress needs $200 for a second sewing machine. A food seller needs $100 for a fridge.
The Mwananyamala Women's Business Fund will provide microloans of $100–$500 to 30 women entrepreneurs selected through our savings groups program. Each recipient has completed our 6-month financial literacy and business skills training. Loans are repaid over 12 months into a revolving fund that will support the next cohort.
Beyond the loans, all recipients receive 6 months of mentorship from experienced business owners, access to our shared market stall at Mwananyamala Market, and support with digital marketing and mobile money payments.

94.5% funded — so close!
We are just $550 away from fully funding all 30 microloans. The first 12 women have already received their loans and started their businesses. One recipient used her loan to buy a second-hand sewing machine — she is now taking orders she never could before.
First 15 loans disbursed
The first 15 women received their microloans this week in a small ceremony at our Mwananyamala Hub. Every one of them had a plan ready on day one. The energy in that room was extraordinary.
